Outside
The entire property has a secure perimeter fence with a single entry point through electric gates. The lovely tree lined drive leads to ample, secure parking space.
Garden – All sections of our extensive garden are available for visitors to use. The largest grassed area is partly fenced off for our resident, friendly, miniature horses, Etoile and Jasmine. The horses are a great hit with everyone and easily won over by anyone offering apples, stale bread or carrots!
BBQ area – The bbq area, situated outside the main kitchen is a spacious, paved area with a covered, tiled roof which is illuminated at night allowing for outside entertaining whatever the weather. The table shown in the photo below has now been replaced with one that’s 3m long, with plenty of room to seat everyone. This area also has a well-stocked herb garden for your use.
Pool – The terraced pool area is accessed via a paved ramp from the top lawn, making it easily accessible, and is surrounded by beautiful rose beds. The pool measures 10m x 4.5m and is up to 1.75m deep. All pool towels are supplied.
For safety and security, the pool area is screened by wooden fences and gates, which are kept shut at all times. An alarm system provides further peace of mind.
Sun loungers, deck chairs and table and chairs are provided. Wi-fi reception is available on the pool terrace.
Pool heating – The pool is heated to from May to late September. We cannot guarantee the pool will be fully heated or open outside these dates as it is subject to prevailing weather conditions. If weather conditions are suitable between September and April, the pool can be heated at a cost of £150 per week. This would give a minimum temperature of 22 degrees but it is perfectly possible that mild weather conditions would allow us to fully heat it.
Shady retreats – Mature trees and hammocks on the top lawn provide shady, peaceful retreats from the pool and terrace area.
Pizza oven – A traditional brick built pizza oven is located on the top lawn of the pool area. This is provides a great form of entertainment for all the family. Pizza parties can be provided by your hosts on request. The covered seating area provides you with a wonderful access point to view the surrounding countryside and pool area while you eat.
Bike store – At the rear of the gîte is a bike store with an excellent range of well-maintained bikes suitable for all ages. A few helmets are provided for children.
Freshly laid eggs – We keep a variety of chickens – in their own secure enclosure. This means we always have a freshly laid eggs available for purchase. Our chickens love being fed by all, and children usually take great delight with egg collecting!
Season vegetables – Stephen tries to maintain a well-stocked vegetable garden and takes pleasure in supplying seasonal produce to guests.
Washing line – You’ll find a rotary clothes line on the front lawn.
